Walhalla seeks input for traffic change
(Walhalla, SC) June 30, 2020. The City of Walhalla is seeking public comments on proposed traffic and parking changes along S. Catherine Street, between East Main and East South Broad.
Currently, there is two-way traffic with southbound parallel parking on S. Catherine. Recent traffic issues have caused the City to question; is there enough space to continue the parallel parking while allowing for adequate turning onto S. Catherine from East South Broad.
The City has identified several alternatives to managing traffic on S. Catherine. These are:
- Eliminate all parallel parking.
- Designate S. Catherine as an “one-way” southbound street and continue to allow southbound parallel parking.
- No Action. Continue to allow the current two-way traffic flow and southbound parallel parking.
The public is invited to make comments and/or suggestions on the proposed alternatives. Public comment periods will be July 7, 2020 and July 21, 2020 at City Council Meetings being held at the Walhalla Depot.
