The Planning Department is responsible for administration and implementation of the City’s Zoning Ordinance, Comprehensive Plan and other relevant ordinances.
Contact the department prior to beginning any of the following:
adding to an existing building (additions) or making structural alterations;
changing a building or land’s use;
constructing or expanding any new residential, commercial, or industrial structure;
demolishing a building;
subdividing land;
installing or replacing signage.
The department has restarted enforcement of the City’s property maintenance code. Please review the IPMC Self-Inspection Checklist and address any issues found.
Below are the forms and applications for Planning topics. You may download and complete prior to your visit to city hall. All payments or fees must be made at our office as we do not support any payments online or over the phone. Applications are reviewed within 5 business days after payment is received.
