City Administrator
The City Administrator is responsible for carrying out the policies of the city and ordinances adopted by the City Council. The Administrator is empowered to make all personnel appointments, supervise the work of all city departments, enforce the laws and ordinances of the city, supervise preparation of the annual operating budget for council approval, and conduct day to day business of the city. Additionally, the Administrator is responsible for making recommendations to the City Council as may be deemed necessary or expedient for the benefit of the public.
The Administration office is also responsible for planning and zoning, grant management, community and economic development and other functions.
Finance/City Clerk
Function and Responsibilities
- Accounts Payable – Provides payment for invoices to County vendors.
- Accounts Receivable – Collection and payment processing for service charges, business licenses, hospitality fees, accommodations fees, zoning and permit fees, and other miscellaneous payments.
- Budgeting – Assist the Administrator in creating and maintaining the Annual Operating and Capital Budget.
- Payroll – Process and maintain employee time records and issue employee payroll checks.
- Fiscal Auditing – Assist in the preparation of the Annual Financial Report (audit) and other financial reports as required or requested by federal and state agencies.
- Grant Administration – Process and maintain all revenues and expenditures for federal, state, or local grants the city receives that supplement existing city programs or assist in the funding of new ones.
- Human Resources – Provide employees with benefit information, on-boards employees and process insurance claims.
City Administrative Offices are located at 105 W South Broad St, Walhalla.
