2025 Walhalla Christmas Parade
The Walhalla Christmas Parade will be Saturday, December at 5 PM. The theme is Christmas Movies. Please complete your entry applications online by Friday, November 7 at 5pm. No paper applications will be accepted. Click HERE for the application.
Filming and judging of the parade will take place at the City Green next to Arby’s. MC‘s for the event will introduce each entry as they pass this location. Included with the parade application is the introduction form. Please be sure to complete the ENTIRE form so your entry will be introduced correctly.
Please note: no entry will be allowed to stop during the parade. Although entries can pause and do a 30 second or less routine in front of city green for filming and judging. Parade judges will pick winners for Best of Parade, Best Performance, and Best Antique Vehicle.
Placement in the parade is at the discretion of city staff and is not guaranteed.

Parade Rules and Regulations
For the success of the parade and the full enjoyment and safety of all participants and spectators, it is very important that you know your responsibilities.
SANTA CLAUS WILL BE JOINNG US FOR THE PARADE, SO NO SANTA CLAUS IMPERSONATOR OR ANYONE WEARING A SANTA CLAUS COSTUME WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE PARADE. THIS IS TO AVOID CONFUSION FOR THE CHILDREN AT THE PARADE.
Please review these rules and regulations with your entry participants.
- Parade Entries
- Last minute adjustments or additions to your float must be done in the parking lot at the Oconee County offices located at 415 S Pine Street, Walhalla. Your float must be finished when you enter the lineup space.
- The lineup begins at 3 PM and ends at 4 PM on both sides (northbound and southbound) of S. Church St.
- Church Street will be CLOSED to all traffic from noon to 7pm.
- Line up is closed at 4pm. Entries not in place by 4pm will NOT be allowed to participate.
- Remain in your lineup space until the parade begins to move. Do NOT move until the entry in front of you moves.
- The parade will begin by moving up S Church Street and turn right down the north side of Main Street.
- No throwing of gum, candy and or other materials for parade entry. Walkers may hand out candy.
- Alcoholic beverages are prohibited.
- No smoking or vaping in on or around the parade entries.
- All motorized parade entries must be operated by licensed driver with current auto insurance.
- Sirens, indoor air horns, and revving engines must be kept at a minimum.
- Parade float entries transporting children more than 30 inches from the ground must have side rails. Rails should measure a minimum of 3 feet from the floor of the float.
- Participants are not allowed on or off the parade unit once in motion.
- An adult of 18 years or older must accompany children at all times.
- You are responsible for cleaning up after any animals associated with your entry.
- Just as a reminder this is a friendly family, friendly event.
- Check-In
- Line up starts at 3pm and ends at 4pm.
- You must check-in with your vehicle/ float at the intersection of S Church Street & Diedrich Streets.
- You will NOT be allowed to line up without checking in.
- If you enter the lineup before checking in, you will be asked to leave the lineup and report to check in.
- All entries will enter the line up area at this intersection.
- Entry Numbers and Signage
- Parade participants are responsible for signage or placards stating the name of the parade entry. Sponsor signs must be on the sides of the vehicle or floats.
- A number for judging will be given to each group when they check in at lineup. Numbers should be prominently displayed in the driver’s side window or windshield area.
- Filming
- Filming will take place at the City Green next to Arby’s.
- No entry will be allowed to stop during the parade. Although entries can pause and do a 30 second or less routine for judging.
- Parade Judging
- Winners will be announced via social media on the Monday following the parade at noon.
- Best of Parade: Overall entry that best displays the parade theme in an impressive manner.
- Best Performance: A group of any size that primarily march, dance, and or cheer. This entry may include special characters or unique costumes.
- Best Antique: A vehicle entry not normally driven or used routinely due to age and value.
- DAY OF PARADE ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Entries will not be accepted after November 7, 2025, 5pm.
- Safety is first! Therefore, we reserve the right to remove any entry or participate from the parade when the action of that entry or it’s participants presents a danger to spectators or other participants.
Important Details:
- Organizers are responsible for sharing all information with parents/all persons involved in the parade entry.
- Participants must arrive between 3pm and 4pm along S. Church St. Please do not enter the lineup area until your vehicle/ float has checked in and is in the line up space.
- It is very important that the parents/guardians and all persons dropping off kids/participants must FIRST PARK THEN WALK kids/participants to their line up location. DO NOT DRIVE THROUGH LINEUP LOCATION.
