Walhalla SC – The first of two pumps removed for repair is back in operation. The contractors delivered the pump Thursday and worked with City Water and Facilities staff to reinstall it at the Walhalla Water Plant.

The City of Walhalla appreciates the City of Seneca’s support in supplementing the water supply over the last week. Seneca Light and Water supplied between 300,000 and 500,000 gallons a day of the approximately 2 million gallons a day Walhalla Water distributes.

The City also wishes to recognize and thank the dedicated Water and Facilities staff that set-up and manned the temporary pump around the clock to ensure a reliable supply of water.

The second pump is expected to be delivered and installed on Monday. Once the cause is determined, any further adjustments to maintenance and operating procedures will be updated to prevent future occurrences.

The City of Walhalla remains committed to providing a safe and reliable water supply to its customers. Thank you for your continued support and patience as improvements are being made.
