Outdoor Water Use Restriction Continues to Remain In Effect

Walhalla — The City of Walhalla is asking that water users continue to temporarily restrict their outdoor water use and to implement water conservation measures.

The City of Walhalla Water Department has seen an improvement but is still experiencing system pressure issues due to excessive water usage. The recent heat advisories and extended dry conditions have not helped and many users continue to activate outdoor irrigation systems. An irrigation system can use +/- 5 gallons of water per sprinkler head a minute, depending on the model.  The Water Department asks that all users please turn off irrigation systems at this time.

Again this restriction is a temporary measure to ensure adequate water supply for household use by prohibiting the use of irrigation systems until further notice. Agricultural operations are exempt. Updates will be provided as conditions improve. Water personnel will reevaluate conditions on Monday, July 8, 2024.

The City Water Department would like to thank our customers for their cooperation and understanding during this time.
