Walhalla, SC – The City of Walhalla ranks in the top 20 safest cities in South Carolina according to the Safewise Safest Cities in South Carolina 2025 report. Safewise rankings are based on violent crimes and property crimes per 1,000 people in each city. The “safest cities rankings are intended to highlight cities with low crime rates and ignite conversation and action around how to make all cities and communities safer” according to the Safewise website. The Safewise Safest Cities in South Carolina report for 2025 highlights the top 64 safest cities in South Carolina.
In the safest cities ranking, the City of Walhalla continues to maintain its top 20 status in the State with the rank of eighteen. “I am proud of our team’s efforts to integrate public safety as a priority and of our dedicated police officers who serve. Public safety is challenging, but we have an amazing police force, led by Chief Rice, who makes a conscious choice every day to protect and serve with professionalism and compassion,” said Celia Myers, City Administrator.
